About me
I'm a Baltimore native. I have a degree in nursing from the University of Maryland and a master's in pastoral care from Loyola College. My thesis focused on bereavement by suicide and included developing a bereavement support group.

Through my involvement with an online support group, Parents of Suicides, I found a community and formed lasting friendships with other suicide loss survivors.

Support groups are not for everyone, but knowing others who survived the most unimaginable loss helped me get through those first debilitating, grief-laden years.

Not all of the stories in Love in the Archives are sad ones. There are some funny moments in these pages because Lydia, despite her depression, had a wonderful, quirky sense of humor.
